The Most Holy Name of Jesus

1 John 2:29-3:6

REFLECT

In 1972 comedian George Carlin outlined seven curse words you could never say on television. A recent psychological study examined the use of expletives in print from thousands of books from 1950–2008. The study found that Carlin’s seven words were used twenty-eight times more frequently by 2008 than 1950. So, if you think the world is getting more crude… it’s not just you! That’s why we need today’s feast. Today is a day to set apart the holiness of the Name of Jesus and to make reparation for the times when blasphemies and profanity besmirch our speech.

PRAY

Lord Jesus, your name summons your holiness and power. Grant me the grace to call upon you only in prayer, since your very name makes the powers of hell tremble. Amen.

LIVE

Look up the Litany of the Most Holy Name of Jesus today and pray it in reparation for irreverence and sacrilege.

We look forward to continuing this journey with you tomorrow.
